It took me thirteen years to recognize that amidst nurturing others, I had neglected the most crucial person: myself.
One culprit often responsible for this sense of entrapment is mom guilt — a nagging feeling that surfaces whenever we prioritize our own needs. Whether it's carving out time for work, self-care, or socializing, mom guilt has a way of casting doubt on our decisions, leaving us second-guessing every step.
Yet one truth remains steadfast: when we prioritize self-care, everyone around us benefits. Just as the saying goes, "you can't pour from an empty cup."
So where do we begin the journey to break free from feeling stuck? Here are three simple yet impactful strategies to start today:
